Our Story: A Legacy of Upliftment
Founded in 1962 in Ipoh by a group of visionary Sikh elders, the fund began as a humble effort to ensure that no child was denied education due to financial hardship. Powered by community goodwill, it provided school supplies, covered exam fees, and offered encouragement to underprivileged students.
For many years, this effort thrived informally, fueled by goodwill, volunteerism, and community contributions. It was a simple yet powerful act of service which provides school supplies, covering exam fees, and giving students the encouragement they needed to keep going.
In 1986, a new generation of Sikh professionals formalized the initiative, introducing structure and governance that expanded the fund’s reach and impact
Today, The Perak Sikhs Education Aid Fund (PSEAF) stands as a cornerstone of educational empowerment in the Sikh community of Perak. With a mission rooted in seva (selfless service), the fund supports students from financially challenged backgrounds through monthly education aid, tuition support, back-to-school programs, and scholarships.
Our
Mission
To provide sustainable educational support to Sikh students in Perak, empowering them to succeed academically and contribute meaningfully to society.
Our
Vision
To be a cornerstone of educational empowerment for the Sikh community in Perak, where no student is left behind due to financial hardship.
We envision a future where:

Education bridges inequality and opens doors to opportunity

Sikh youth become confident and capable leaders

A lasting legacy of unity, knowledge, and growth is passed down through generations
Our Impact
Over the decades, we’ve helped more than hundreds of Sikh students every year in Perak to pursue their education by providing:
Financial aid to ease school and university expenses
Scholarships and educational loans for deserving students
Awards and recognition ceremonies that celebrate academic excellence and encourage continued achievement
Our 2030 Strategy
We aim to reach more rural and underserved Sikh students, especially those who may not have access to information or guidance about educational support. Outreach efforts include community events, school visits, and partnerships with local leaders.
Through strategic donor engagement and partnerships, we plan to grow our scholarship pool to support a larger number of deserving students, especially those pursuing tertiary education or skill-based programs.
We will connect alumni and community professionals with current students to offer academic guidance, career advice, and emotional support in helping bridge the gap between school and the real world.
We believe in nurturing all students. We will work closely with schools, tuition centres, and NGOs to offer academic support, soft skills development, and personal growth programs.
